The app declares zero internet permissions in AndroidManifest.xml and initiates zero HTTP requests. Even typography fonts are bundled locally with runtime web fetching completely disabled.
Exported .phbackup files use Galois/Counter Mode (GCM) for authenticated encryption. Each backup generates a fresh cryptographically secure 128-bit salt and 96-bit Initialization Vector (IV).
Because your passphrase is never sent to any server, if you forget your backup passphrase, no one can recover your backup — not even our engineers. You remain in complete, absolute control.
