1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or utilizing the Private Habit mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the application.
2. Nature of Software: Local-First & Self-Sovereign
Private Habit is an offline-first mobile utility. The software operates entirely on your physical hardware without remote synchronization, backend account hosting, or server-side data retention.
3. User Responsibility for Data and Backups
Because Private Habit does not maintain remote cloud backups:
- You are solely responsible for creating regular encrypted backups using the in-app export tools.
- You are solely responsible for memorizing or securely storing your backup passphrase.
- The application developers have no capability to recover or reset forgotten passphrases or retrieve lost data resulting from hardware loss, device failure, or uninstallation.
4. Intellectual Property and Open Source
All rights, titles, and interests in and to the application design, branding, and proprietary assets are reserved. Source code components licensed under permissive open-source licenses remain subject to their respective copyright notices.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
The application is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
